houghton and Kingmoor church

Women’s

There are a wide variety of activities for women of all ages to get involved with and opportunities to encourage one another – from special events to regular groups.

We often have guest events to invite friends along to – which are ideal if you don’t usually come to church but would be interested in finding out more about Jesus. Whether you like getting dressed up for a meal out or prefer a cosy craft evening at someone’s home, there are a range of events to come along to throughout the year. The annual Christmas craft event in November is very popular.

Mothers’ Union is an international Christian charity that seeks to support families worldwide.  Houghton and Kingmoor Mothers’ Union provides fellowship and teaching from guest speakers.  The programme is varied, sometimes delving into the Bible, sometimes learning of needs around the world or closer to home. Once a month we receive a wonderful welcome at The Knells care home where we share a short service with staff and residents. Please come and join us, especially as we look forward to 2026 when Mothers’ Union celebrates 150 years of Christian care and concern for family life.  For more information please see their website:
