There are many retired folk who are very active in serving in the church. With more time available, retirement is often an opportunity to get involved in new areas of church life or commit more time to digging deeper into the Bible.
New for 2020 — Holiday at Home
Monday 27th, Wednesday 29th & Friday 31st January
10.15am to 2pm at St John’s
In January, we’ll be hosting a special week – ideal for those who are retired or at home during the daytime. Each day we’ll be taking a ‘cruise’ round Lake Galilee and discovering more about the
miracles that Jesus performed – along with crafts, favourite songs, a light lunch and refreshments.
There will be a special ‘Holiday at Home’ service at 11am on Sunday 2nd February at St John’s.
To find out more or book places, please contact the Church Office. The cost will be £5 for the week (or £2 per day).
We run a monthly Lunch Club for folks to get together for a delicious freshly cooked meal followed by a guest speaker. It is open to anyone in the parish. If you would like to start coming along, please contact the church office.
We regularly lead services at the Knells nursing home, as well as offering ‘extended communion’ to those who are housebound.
