There are many retired folk who are very active in serving in the church. With more time available, retirement is often an opportunity to get involved in new areas of church life or commit more time to digging deeper into the Bible.
Lunch Club
We run a monthly Lunch Club for people who are at home during the day to get together for a delicious freshly cooked meal, followed by a short talk from a guest speaker. It is open to anyone in the parish. If you would like to start coming along, please contact the church office.
Care
We lead services at the Knells nursing home, as well as offering ‘extended communion’ to those who are housebound.
Holiday at Home
In January 2020, we hosted a special week for those who are retired or at home during the daytime – with crafts, favourite songs, a light lunch and refreshments – and hope to be able to run this again in the future.
