Wednesday 18th March 2020
Dear Church Family,
Following the update on Tuesday, we are now writing with more details about what we are planning and how we can continue fellowship during this time.
1. Please pray today!
We would usually be meeting for Partnership on Wednesday – please do be praying at home instead. Here are some notes to help you pray – 20.03.18 Prayer & Praise
2. Sunday gatherings have been suspended
You may have read that the Church of England have now suspended all services. Although we can’t meet face-to-face, we intend to offer a simple online service at 10am every Sunday.
We are still working through how best to do this and will let you know once we have the details. It will be designed to work for all church members – with an all-age slot, some intercessions, a Bible reading and talk. This way, families may watch it around the dining table together with Bibles open, and individuals may watch it in a similar way to a TV show. The intention is that this be recorded so that those unable to join at 10am could enjoy later in the day.
3. All non-essential mid-week gatherings are postponed
This includes Home Groups, Partnership, PCC, Mums & Tots and so on. We’re coming up with plans as to how Home Groups can continue to have fellowship and encourage one another with the Bible.
4. Keeping in touch
If you know anyone in our church family who doesn’t currently receive the Notice Sheet on email, and would like to start receiving the email updates, please ask them to contact the church office.
5. Supporting our communities
This is an opportunity for us to show love and care for our communities, where it is needed and we are able. Here is a card which you may want to print off and deliver to your neighbours to offer help – Here to Help Cards
The church office is happy to be the first or last port of call (or anywhere in between) to help anyone in need within our communities. If you are in need of any help (or know anyone who is) or would like to offer help, please do let the office know.
Please don’t underestimate the value of a personal phone call – there will be a lot of extra loneliness in these coming weeks and months, and 5 minutes each day from all of us can make a real difference in that. It’s a simple way to help people, but hugely effective and much appreciated.
In all of this, we face a God-given opportunity to *be the church* outside of the building – to live for Jesus in word and deed as we seek to reach out in love to a lost and needy world.
This comes with my love and prayers,
